Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo
Dedicated, with love,
to the amazing Gail Anne Otsig
There was a young lady named
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo
Who had so many children
She didn’t know what to do!
There was Alex and Emma
And Heidi and Fred.
There was Bradley and David
And little Winnifred.
There was Brylee and Shelby
And Jesse and Brian.
There was Alicia and Trevin
And Danny and Ryan.
There was Jordan and Justin
And Brittany with an “i.”
There was Jace and Jack
And Bryttany with a “y.”
There was Reid and Bailey
And Charissa and Shannon.
There were two sweet Chelseas
And Ariana and Shana.
There was T.J. and B.J.
And their sister J.C.
There was J.R. and M.J.
And a grinning Cee-Cee.
There was Tony and Tina
And Tommy and Tim.
There was Jenny and John
And big brother Jim.
There was Stephen and Sean
And Sally and Sue.
There was Sharla and Kass
And Josephine too.
There was Brandon and Larissa
And Eric and Laura.
There was Crystal and Matthew
And sweet Isadora.
There was Lucas and Daniel
And Corey and Jen.
There was Jason and Katie
And Ziggy-Zen-Zen!
There was Danielle and Helen
And Cassidy too.
There was Torrey and Brody
And little Zappa-Zu!
There was Jamie and James
And Louis and Lou.
There was Valerie and Val
And Susan and Sue!
There was Eenie and Meenie
And Minie and Mo!
There was Mickey and Nicky
And sticky Jo-Jo!
There was Zafar and Ziebert
And Zamzabar too.
There was Zigfield and Zumba
And Zany-Zu-Zu!
There was tiny little Zippy
And tall, towering Zappy.
But that’s all there was—
They all made her happy!
She loved every kid,
And upon them she’d fawn.
But she did not keep a list—
As it would go on and on . . .
and on and on!
There were ninety-one in all.
Or was that ninety-two?
The whole entire family of
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo.
So yes, that’s it.
That’s the whole entire brood.
Every one of them was loved by
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved . . .
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
Oh, she had quite a way.
She’d look after them all!
She’d hug them and kiss them
After each scrape and fall!
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved . . .
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
She would cook and she’d clean,
And she’d burp and she’d feed.
She'd keep them all learning
With books that she’d read.
She would sing silly songs
And read poems by the score.
She'd keep them all laughing
And calling for more!
She played great music
And taught them their numbers.
She taught each one to read!
Oh wonder of wonders!
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
She wrote them little notes,
Filled with love and much more.
She packed the older ones lunches
As they rushed out the door.
She laundered the socks,
And she shortened the pants.
She sewed frilly skirts
And lacy underpants.
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
She moved the big lawn
And she shingled the roof.
She roto-tilled the garden
All done in a poof!
She made all the beds
And bathed the young kids.
She changed all the diapers
As the older kids hid!
She taught them to play baseball
And she made a great ump.
She called Meenie safe
When he slid on his rump!
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
She taught them to swim
And ride a two-wheel bike.
She taught them to skate
And to fly a big kite!
She taught them to dance
And she taught them to paint.
She taught about life’s little treasures
And everything quaint.
She took them for tea at Granny’s
Yes! She took all ninety-two!
They sipped tea with sugar . . .
Would that be one lump or two?
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
She brought them up well—
Happy, smart and strong—
And they all had fun together
They always got along.
So as many of them married
And grandkids came along,
They didn’t want to move away
So they all stayed home with mom!?
And oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
And so the family kept growing.
It kept going strong.
They ALL stayed home together
And sang their happy song.
They sang about their mother
And their grandmother, too.
They sang about one lovely person
Their one and their only . . .
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
That’s all there was to it.
That’s all they could do.
They were the loving family of
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
And just once more . . .
Oh how they loved her—
They loved her right through—
Oh, how they loved...
Gaila Pasquaila Magaila Magoo!
